Sighthound Wear Size Chart
Quick notes
- Each piece is handmade to order. Allow about 1 to 2 cm variation due to the craft process.
- Our clothes are designed for lean, deep-chested dogs with a narrow waist, like sighthounds, Xoloitzcuintle, Pharaoh Hounds and similar breeds. They do not fit broader, square-built dogs such as retrievers, spaniels, terriers, or bulldogs.
- Style choice matters. Pick snug, or loose. The steps below make that choice explicit.
How to measure
Units: centimeters. Take measurements while the dog stands naturally.
- A. Back length: from the withers to the base of the tail, following the contour of the back.
- B. Chest girth: around the widest part of the chest just behind the front legs. Tape snug, not tight.
- C. Neck girth: around the base of the neck where a collar sits.
Size | Back Length (A) | Chest Girth (B) | Neck Girth (C) |

80 | 78-82 | 91-95 | 60-64 |
Selecting the Correct Size
This is the method we recommend: start with back length, then check chest and neck. Treat your dogs with snacks. Measure again.
Step 1. Record A, B, C.
Write down your dog’s Back (A), Chest (B), and Neck (C) measurements.
Step 2. Choose by Back (A).
Find the size where A fits inside the back length range. If A falls between two sizes, keep both in mind.
- Snug fit: If A is in the lower half of a back range, pick the smaller of the two possible sizes. If A is near the top of a back range but you still want a close fit, stay with that size.
- Loose fit: If A is in the upper half of a back range, or up to 2–3 cm above it, go one size up for more drape over the hips.
Step 3. Check Chest (B).
B should fall within the chest range. Up to +2 cm over is acceptable for snug; up to –1 cm under is fine for common. Beyond that, size up.
Step 4. Check Neck (C).
Make sure C fits inside the neck range.
Handmade tolerance: allow 1–2 cm variation due to the craft process.
